Frequently Asked Questions

How long dose the welding process take?

We usually schedule a 15-20 minute time slot to custom fit the chain to you, then use a specialized welding machine to weld the jewelry in seconds. You may want to come to your appointment early or search our website to pre-select your chain and any connectors or charms you’d like to use. We try to keep our website up to date with current availability of items but it may not be 100% accurate and we may be out of stock with some items. If there are specific items you’d like please contact us or let us know prior to booking so we can ensure we have what you want at your scheduled appointment.

Can I remove the chain if needed?

Yes permanent jewelry can be removed for special circumstances (surgery, MRI, sports, etc) or by choice. If you need to remove your piece for any reason, you can simply cut with scissors, fingernail clippers, or wire cutters at the jump ring (or welded area). We do offer re-welding once for free and any additional time for a $10 fee. Just bring the original chain back. If the piece is cut anywhere other than the jump ring we may not be able to re-weld. However if you bring the chain to us we will try to work with you on a way to salvage your piece.

I want one, but not sure if I want it to be permanent. What can I do?

We are happy to make a custom piece for anyone that wants one with a removable option. For a fee we can add a clasp to any piece. See our pricing section for more info. If you find you never take it off and would like to make it permanent just schedule an appointment and have it welded.

What if my chain breaks?

Our chains are made of high-quality materials and meant to resist everyday wear and tear. However permanent does not mean indestructible, it just means clasp-less. Any piece is susceptible to damage just as with any other piece of jewelry. If your piece gets snagged, stretched, or met with force it may break. We do not replace or reimburse for broken or lost chains, however bring your original piece back to us and we can work with you to try and salvage your piece at a fee.

Can I change or cancel my appointment?

An appointment can be rescheduled or canceled if the time no longer works for you. We ask that you please notify us within at least 24 hours prior to your booked time so that we can offer that time to other customers. We will work with you to reschedule a new appointment.

Do you take walk ins?

Yes. However pre-scheduled appointments will take priority and therefore you may see long wait times if the day is full of scheduled appointments! It is best to schedule prior to coming but if you walk in we will try and find a time to get you in, in a timely manner if able.

Is there an age requirement?

Yes. While we know getting a matching mommy and me bracelet sounds like the perfect mother daughter event we unfortunately will not be welding on any child under the age of 13. Due to federal regulations regarding jewelry and children, the things needed to be compliant with these guidelines is very difficult to obtain and unfortunately is not currently available through our wholesale distributors. If this ever changes we will make an announcement! Sorry for any inconvenience this brings.

Can I go through TSA with permanent jewelry?

Yes! TSA doesn’t require you to remove fine jewelry when going through security. You should have no problem wearing your permanent jewelry on all your travel adventures.

Can I wear it in the shower, pool, hot tub, ocean, etc?

Of course! That’s the fun of permanent jewelry; you should never have to take it off (unless with special circumstances). Our chains are meant to go through life’s adventures with you. Some jewelry may be prone to oxidation after exposure to pools or hot tubs due to the chemicals used. You should always clean your piece with soap and water and dry completely after getting out of any kind of water. Keep in mind some water sources have more chlorine and other chemicals present than others and you may notice more changes to your piece in these situations.

What do you recommend cleaning my jewelry with?

I personally clean my jewelry with Thieves products. I use a 1:1 ratio with Thieves dish soap and Thieves Household Cleaner. These can be purchased from Young Living (contact me for more info). You can also use a gentle dish soap like Dawn or any cleaner that is chemical free. Also some metals like sterling silver are more prone to tarnishing for many reasons. A gentle scrub with a polishing cloth, or quick cleaning with baking soda/water paste and a soft brush should be all that is required to restore to its original shine. If this is still unsuccessful, a silver dip may be used. Ask your jewelry artist about this if needed. If you have had tarnishing to other jewelry pieces before, it may be due to the pH of your skin or personal care products and the ingredients in them and you may experience this with your permanent piece as well.

What do you mean by special circumstances?

There may be times you will be asked or required to remove your permanent jewelry. Some of these reasons include but are not limited to surgery, MRI, other medical procedures, participating in sporting events, trauma or injury. In this case if the jewelry is removed properly (at the welded jump ring area) you can bring your piece back to us and have it fixed complimentary the first time and $10 each time after that.

Will my jewelry tarnish?

All metal can tarnish at some point if not cared for properly. If you are taking proper care of your piece it can last as long as you’d like it to in most cases. Many factors influence the tarnishing of metal, even the finest jewelry is at risk of tarnishing. A care card will be provided to you with your purchase. Please refer to the instructions provided on this card and ask your permanent jewelry artist for how to keep your piece as long lasting as possible.

Is there anyone that shouldn’t or can’t get permanent jewelry?

According to the American Heart Association, anyone with a pacemaker/AICD should not be around welding equipment. While our welder is most likely not included in this statement it is best to check with your primary care provider. If you have a history of an allergy to nickel or other precious metals we do not recommend you get a permanent piece.

Can I get more than one piece during my appointment?

Permanent jewelry is beautiful and looks great stacked. We are happy to custom-fit as many pieces as you wish. Please plan on 15 minutes per piece. Some time can be taken off this estimate if you already have your chain and charms selected. If you are booking for multiple people each person needs their own time slot. If you book your appointment only planning for 1 piece and then wish to have more we may have to work with you to accommodate other appointments and clients. We want to be mindful of everyones times and schedule.

How do i redeem my loyalty card?

On your first purchase you will receive a loyalty card. Please keep this in a safe place so it can be redeemed for a 50% off piece on your 4th purchase. This excludes solid gold options at this time. I try to keep accurate up to date tracking of all sales so I may be able to find your previous purchases in my database without your loyalty card. However keep in mind if I am unable to find your 3 previous purchases I cannot validate the discount on your 4th piece so try to keep your card in a safe place.

Do you host private events?

Of course! We would love to host a private event for you and your special quests. We require a minimum of 6 guest at this time. Check our contact section for ways to get ahold of us to book your event. We currently don’t require a deposit for events but this may be a requirement in the future if we experience no shows, cancellations, and the like. If your party reaches 6 purchases the host will receive a free bracelet or anklet (solid gold and charms and connectors excluded but can be purchased and charged the remaining balance).

Think bridal shower, bachelorette party, girls night out, birthday party etc. Also check out our current list of events scheduled if you’d like to stop in to one to book an appointment or get a piece made.

How Permanent Jewelry Works

  1. Make an appointment or stop at an event or pop up. Expect about 15-20 minutes for your appointment, more pieces require more time

  2. Choose your chain, charms, connectors, clasp etc. Take your pick from our selections of different metal options. Want more than one piece? Mix and match styles or stack your pieces.

  3. Get welded. During your appointment we’ll custom fit your chain to your wrist, ankle, or neck and weld your piece shut. Now your linked for life!

We keep detailed records of all the clients who and pieces we make to ensure if you experience a problem we can see what you had done and that we did your original piece. If someone else created your original piece, we encourage you to contact the original welder for issues as they may be able to correct your problem complimentary. If you can’t or don’t want to go back to the original seller, you are welcome to schedule and appointment and we will work with you to try and save your piece or to show you our options to get you on track for a new piece.
